These are snippets from some of the motion graphics and compositing work I've done recently. Includes pieces from projects for clients like A&E Networks, IBM, Ketel One, Beats by Dr. Dre, Samsung, and a few others. It also showcases some experimental work I’ve played with in my spare time, plus music videos I designed, shot, and directed.

3D animated teaser for a UNO (game of my childhood) inspired hypothetical card game styled in the realm of sports graphics.

This is the first pass at explorations for my Kingstead Creative LLC logo animation. I used Adobe Fresco to draw each frame to create a cel style animation.

KC Logo version 1 with added stroke in After Effects. Wanted to see if it looked better with or without the stroke. Jury is still out.

For this version of the KC logo I used After Effects to add some simple effects and additional elements to give it more of a theme.

Combined some frame-by-frame stylus drawn animation in Apple Pro Create with a little After Effects sauce. A fresh new animated logo came out of the air fryer.

The 3D version of my very own RR personal brand logo. Built using Blender. Edited and finished in After Effects.

I designed and animated this outro title logo for an upcoming documentary.

This helped feed my obsession with vampires.

This is a teaser I created for History channel's show Alone. The concept of the teaser is around the idea that the contestants of the show often fight a mental battle with themselves that either breaks them or pushes them forward to victory. The creative direction was inspired by Ridley Scott's Scott Free production company logo animation and the latest The Walking Dead opening titles. I went for this painterly cel animation look with some help from a Creation Effects template combined with my own Cinema 4D and After Effects animation. I created the soundtrack using Logic Pro X.

Here's a recent C4D project I did at home. Something Sci-Fi. Sort of a bloody avocado blob created by a mad scientist(me).

This is an alternate endpage for the television show Alaska PD. I used all 2D elements in After Effects with image projection and 3D placement to create the illusion of a 3D environment.

Using Cinema 4D and After Effects, I decided to animate a new opening title sequence for the movie Incarnate, about a demon possessed 11 year old boy.

This was a fun project I animated at R/GA NYC for the Angry Birds ten year anniversary campaign, Give It The Bird, to fight against all types of injustices.

Promo trailer using some preliminary graphics ideas for /make. An episodic web series that highlights makers and how they do what they do.

For this project I took a 12 second animation of basic shapes and symbols I created previously and repurposed it as original stage/party visuals. I paired it with a three and a half minute dance track entitled "Hops" I created in Logic Pro X. Distortions, color shifts and other effects are layered on as the song shifts.

30 sec animation utilizing IBM's Watson inspired design styles, illustrating the benefits of Watson's Open Scale artificial intelligence technology

This was one in a series of quick turn around animations for a social media campaign pitch. This one features the UE Boom blue tooth speaker in all it's colorful glory.

These end card animations were part of a pitch for Pay Pal. It uses type and sound to imitate recognizable real life objects one might pay a pal for. I executed the animation.

This was one of many Samsung pitches. This time for the S9+. I was tasked with creating some of the type animations.

This animation is a string of motion tests derived from some of my sketch book doodles of squares cut into interesting patterns and shapes. These animations are accompanied by a snippet of original music I composed.

The Next Bank case study was a project done at R/GA NYC in collaboration with R/GA Sao Paolo showcasing the brand.  I simply did some of the type animations.

Case study for a platform for brands to funnel deals, offers, notifications to customers' digital wallet. I design the title cards and animated the entire piece in After Effects.

For this project I finally got to use the geometry I learned in high school and the calculus i never actually learned.  IBM asked me to do an animation for Pi Day.  Pi Day is the geeky celebration of Pi (π), the symbol that represents “the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter,” as described succinctly on Wikipedia.  The design aesthetic is that of a patent rendering/drawing in motion.

This is the opening sequence for IBM's film series "Eye on", which focuses on the increasingly convergent worlds of science, technology and art.  I created an interlocking grid made up of different sized IBM posters. Then I animated both within the posters, bringing some of them to life, while also traveling parallel to the grid using quick camera movements.

I was asked by IBM to do an animation that visualizes an audio clip of Dr. Laxmi talking about working with and understanding genomes, using tango dancing as a metaphor.  Storyboards, After Effects, Cinema 4D, Illustrator and Photoshop were used to complete the project.

Cinema 4D animation using low poly modeling to visualize a HUD POV flying through a weird low poly space.

These were a couple editorial/animation passes for a Nike pitch. I was responsible for animation and editing.

This is a logo animation for Oneness Productions.  I explored type design using simple shapes and detailed 2D animation builds using After Effects.

This was one of a few animation passes for a component of a Samsung presentation deck. This particular piece featured the Galaxy's dual screen multi-tasking capability. It turned out to be a fun exploration in animating to music.

This TV spot for Adlibris Letto, a Swedish e-Reader device, is a project I did the visual effects, compositing and motion gtraphics for at NYC's R/GA. This was a fun and challenging exercise in creating magically seamless transitions between live action clips.

This was a TV show pitch video for men's fashion designer and tailor extraordinaire, Duncan Quinn. Motion graphics by yours truly.  Editing, by Adam Jenkins, the Kiwi entrepreneur with the hardy laugh.

This was part of a Nike project done using still imagery brought to life with 2D rigging and lots of particles...in slow motion.  Sound design by yours truly.

Kinesis Cube is short animation exploration I did in Cinema 4D.  It came from a scifi/fantasy story idea about a magical cube that unlocks the dormant telekinetic abilities in humans.

Love is All, is a video I shot, co-directed and edited for artist and performer Malachi Rivers. The song is an uplifting, upbeat message about rising above the struggles of depression through loving and embracing yourself.

Wind Parade is the first music video I created for super talented musical artist/actor/poet Malachi Rivers. It also features the golden voice of Ms. Emily Braden. The song is a re-imagining of the classic Donald Byrd song. You may recognize the sample when you hear it. Creating this video was a fun exploration into shooting against green screen/ green faces and rotoscoping in After Effects. This director's cut includes a few more effects and treated video footage than the original version.

This is a music video promo for which I shot, directed, edited and did the effects. The talent...Ty Blue, an up and coming singer hailing from New York City.

Oldie but goodie 2D motion graphics piece pitched to Alpha Romeo.  It was all about how Alpha Romeo is "inside you".  I worked on a couple of the sequences.

This was a 2D motion graphics exploration for a MasterCard project. I designed and animated this sequence.

This is the intro I animated for the Pegasus: Happy Silver Anniversary video done at R/GA NYC.

This animation was an R/GA case study video entry I animated for Ad Council at the Cannes Awards. It highlights thatsnotcool.com, a website that provides awareness and solutions for the problem of abuse through technology/digital spaces i.e. texting, social media.

This promo video was for Rio Rum a new Brazilian rum by Adam Jenkins and company. Adam did the editing. I animated the graphics. 3D bottle courtesy of Chad Yapyapan.
